KEY CONCEPTS FOR CLINICAL PRACTICE
INTENSIVE COURSE FEBRUARY 2021

In the last century we’ve suffered the loss of Psychopathology as a core discipline of Medical curriculums and Psychiatric residency. Many argue that psychiatric practice risks becoming overly simplified jeopardising diagnosis and research which might lead us into a dead in our interventions. Recent interest and efforts to reconsider Psychopathology in its complexity – including subjective, intersubjective and atmospheric elements – have provided a new hope.

OBJECTIVES

  • Understand core concepts of phenomenological psychopathology
  • Appreciate the role of elements of the basic structure of consciousness in the disturbance of “life-world” experience
  • Rethink the rational of phenomenologically based practice – Gather the role of culture in transformation of phenomena
  • Understand the relation between psychopathology and other fields of research
